International Joint Degrees

International Joint Degrees

In 2012 Norwegian higher education institutions can apply for financial support to develop international joint degree programmes at Master's and PhD-level.

Norway’s Ministry of Education and Research has identified joint degree programmes as a priority in the future internationalisation of higher education. The development of joint degree programmes with international partners will increase the quality and relevance of higher education in Norway and make Norwegian higher education more attractive among both institutions and students in other countries. There will be two calls for proposals in 2012, one in January with application deadline 16 April 2012 and a new call in the second half of the year.

The first call for proposals, January 2012

All accredited higher education institutions in Norway are welcome to apply for support to develop new joint degree programmes at Master’s or PhD-level, in collaboration with one or more institutions outside Norway. The support period can be up to two years, with a maximum allocation of NOK 250 000 per year and a maximum total allocation of NOK 500 000. The aim of all projects should be to implement the new study programmes from autumn 2014.

Applications must be submitted through SIUs administrative system for applications and reporting, Espresso.

The final deadline for applications is April 16, 2012 at 15.00/3 pm Norwegian time.
