Erasmus Mundus

Erasmus Mundus is a high quality programme aimed at enhancing the quality of European higher education institutions, thereby becoming more attractive to students and scholars, both from third countries and Europe.

The Erasmus Mundus Programme encompasses three actions. Action 1 consists of Masters and PhD programmes of exceptional quality, delivered by consortia consisting of at least three universities in three European countries, and leading to the award of a recognised joint, double or multiple degree. Candidates from Europe and third countries compete for scholarships offered by the European Union. Norwegian institutions are actively participating in this action.

Action 2 consists of large partnerships between European higher education institutions and groups of universities in specific geographical areas, promoting mobility at all levels of higher education. Norwegian institutions cannot participate in this action.

Action 3 consists of various promotional activities, as well as support for the Erasmus Mundus Alumni organization (EMA).
