Progress report
SIU's annual Situation Report provides a picture of the process of internationalisation in Norwegian universities and colleges in the course of the previous year.
The report improves the knowledge of the efforts being made in this field, both regarding and on behalf of the Norwegian education sector. The report also provides information for the Ministry of Education and Research's work of guiding the process of internationalisation in universities and colleges.
The Situation Report is largely based on data from the various programmes managed by SIU. The data are used to describe how individual institutions and groups participate in the programmes, all of which focus on different subjects and geographical regions. Every year, the report also attempts to survey the internationalisation situation in specific academic disciplines, largely on the basis of qualitative data.
The report for 2009 looked at internationalisation in general teacher training. The aim was to gather data on courses and programmes of study in order to be able to say something about the status of internationalisation over and above pure mobility.
