Universities as agents for recovery, democracy and good governance in post-conflict areas

SIU and Norad invited to a one-day seminar about ‘Universities as agents for recovery, democracy and good governance in post-conflict areas’ in Oslo on 11 December 2009. The seminar presented new research on recovery and democracy issues in post-conflict situations from five cooperative projects supported by the NUFU Programme.

Senior researchers from Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Uganda and their Norwegian partners, based on their field experience shared their perspectives on the role of universities in promoting recovery and good governance in post-conflict areas.

The target groups were Norad, The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from Norwegian NGOs, universities, research institutes and the media with an interest in the topic.
